Samsung Galaxy S III Review & Specifications

Within a couple of days of making its international debut, the Samsung Galaxy S III has made its way into the Indian mobile phone market. The new flagship model from Samsung, and an updated version of its hugely popular sibling, the Galaxy S II, has been one of the most eagerly anticipated phones of 2012.

Running the latest version of Android 4.0 OS (Ice Cream Sandwich), the Galaxy S III can be purchased for a price of Rs. 43,180. The price has been kept in a similar range as that of the HTC One X, which happens to be the prime competitor to the Galaxy S III.


The Galaxy S III is a high-end smartphone from Samsung with impressive specifications that include- 1.4 GHz Quad-Core Processor, a 4.8-inch HD Super AMOLED touchscreen display and some unique features like eye-tracking that are exclusive to this smartphone. The 4.8-inch display is capable of displaying a resolution of 1280×720 pixels in a PenTile pixel arrangement where there are two subpixels per pixel!


The phone also sports an 8MP rear camera with autofocus and LED flash, capable of recording full 1080p HD videos at 30 fps (frames per second). On the front side, it has a 1.9-megapixel secondary camera that can record 720p HD videos and can be used for video chats. With the Galaxy S III, Samsung has introduced a new Bluetooth 4.0 (LE) module along with a brand new feature known as the S Beam. With S Beam users have access to blazing-fast data transfer speeds between compatible devices, to the tune of 1 GB in just 3 minutes. The battery rating of 2100mAh is also impressive.

As part of its promotional campaign, the Samsung Galaxy S III will be available to the Vodafone consumers with 3GB of free data, valid for a period of 2 months. The offer is valid up to 31st August 2012. Samsung will also provide Galaxy S III users with 50GB of free cloud storage space for two years, in collaboration with Dropbox, the popular file hosting service that offers cloud storage, file synchronization, and client software solutions. Samsung is also hoping to aims to launch the Galaxy S III smartphone with over 300 mobile phone operators around the globe by the end of July 2012.
